OUR STORY
I've always built things.
For more than 30 years, I've worked with wood building decks, screened porches and custom outdoor projects. Through all of those years, one thing has always stood out to me: the natural beauty of the wood itself.
The grain, color, knots, figuring and character are different in every board and every species. I wanted to start bringing those qualities indoors, where a remarkable piece of wood can be carefully finished, protected and enjoyed every day.
That idea became Apex Slab Co. Furniture is a new direction for me, but craftsmanship isn't. I bring decades of hands-on building experience, attention to detail and an appreciation for doing things the right way to every piece I create.
My goal is simple: showcase the character already in the wood and turn it into something people are proud to have in their home or business.
LET THE WOOD BE THE DESIGN
No two pieces should look exactly alike.
Part of what makes live-edge furniture special is finding the right slab and allowing its natural grain, shape, color and imperfections to become part of the finished piece.
Walnut, oak, maple and other hardwoods each have their own personality. Rather than hiding those differences, Apex Slab Co. is about showcasing them—whether the wood becomes a dining table, conference table, mantel, board or another custom piece.

The slab is prepared and shaped while preserving the features that make it unique.

Whether it's a family dining table, a statement conference table or a live-edge mantel, the goal is to create something functional that lets a beautiful piece of wood be appreciated for years.
